Advanced Technology Group, spol. s.r.o (ATG)
(Czech Republic)

www.atg.cz

NDT service company employing 38 people full-time, of whom 24 are university graduates. It uses all the conventional NDT techniques (radiography, ultrasonics, penetrant, eddy current, etc.), but also uses advanced methods such as neutron radiography and thermography. In addition, it provides consultancy services in the fields of material selection and corrosion engineering.

The substantial experience that ATG has with EU projects through collaboration of completed and current research projects will be relevant for the co-ordination of the horizontal actions. ATG will bring to the project its practical experience of NDT field operations. Many prospective NDT techniques have failed because the developers have not appreciated the constraints imposed by the conditions site work. The conditions can be particularly severe in the oil & gas, petrochemical and power generation industries. ATG are keen to adopt new technology that will enable them to break into the digital radiographic inspection field where they foresee major market opportunities throughout Eastern Europe in the petrochemical and power generation markets.

Reasons for participating
ATG view the manual NDT service work industry as highly competitive. Consequently, they are keen to adopt new technology that will enable them to break into the the pipe inspection field where they foresee major market opportunities throughout Eastern Europe in the petrochemical and power generation markets.

Role in the project
The substantial experience that ATG has with EU projects through collaboration of completed and current research projects will be relevant for the co-ordination of the horizontal actions. The vice president of ATG, Dr T Netusil is also head of R&D and will personally oversee ATG's role the project. ATG will bring to the project its practical experience of NDT field operations. Many prospective NDT techniques have failed because the developers have not appreciated the constraints imposed by the conditions site work. The conditions are particularly severe at GRP pipe inspection sites. ATG will also take a key role in WP-A were they will be able to use their extensive composite manufacturing facilities to produce reference pieces and samples with discontinuities strategically inserted. This will be carried out in La Composite Prague, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ATG and undertakes the design and production of composite structures for a variety of industries in their state of the art autoclave facility.
